Terry's Texas Ranger Facts

The 8th Texas cavalry, popularly know as "Terry's Texas Rangers", was a group of texas volunteers for the confederate states army.

in the beginning, none of the Rangers were in uniform of any particular style or pattern. Most of them were in citizens dress of one sort or another
BATLLES,WEAPONS, AND CASUALTIES:
The Texas Rangers rode on horses and used sabers, pistols, and shotguns during the civil war. The Texas Rangers went to their first battle on December 1861 against the union in Woodsonville, Kentucky, where they lost their commander Terry. This cavalry was most know for what they did in the Battle of Gettysburg. the Rangers started the war with a good 1,200 soldiers. During the war they lost 1,000 soldiers, but had 200 soldiers left until their last charge at the battle of Bentonville, North Carolina in 1865.
Life After The Civil War:
The end of the war gave a very welcoming peace, especially for the men who were soldiers. Armies were disbanded and former soldiers returned back to their regular lives.
